Factory Assessments and Reporting
Our factory assessment program is the most advanced in the industry and is designed to help our customers and their factories identify and fix issues related to mold at the point of manufacturing. To facilitate this, we have technicians based in China, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh and the USA that conduct over 3,500 factory assessments in 15 countries every year.
Factory Assessment Program
Micro-Pak technicians use specialized checklists for each industry to inspect over 120 points in all storage and production areas of the factory. Technicians will take swab samples to test for the presence of mold, measure moisture content and humidity conditions, test UV tunnels, and take photos of the factory.
Factory Assessment Report
After the assessment we will issue a detailed report that includes all findings and recommendations as well as a factory score. The score allows all parties to keep track of the factory’s improvements over time.
Executive Summary
The Executive Summary, included in every factory report, gives readers a quick one-page summary of the assessment that allows them to see where the biggest areas of concern are and what changes have occurred since the previous assessment.
Corrective Action Plan (CAP)
We issue a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) that is designed to help factories quickly and easily focus on the priority areas to fix. Most CAP recommendations require little or no cost to the factory, and years of experience shows that factories that work closely with Micro-Pak to implement CAPs have dramatically reduced their mold problems.
Micro-Pak Factory Portal
The Micro-Pak Factory Portal is a centralized online platform where our customers can view all of their factory assessment reports along with advanced data analytics. By digitizing the entire assessment process, we have reduced the turnaround time of reports to under 7 days while improving the comprehensiveness of reports.
Digital Reports
Micro-Pak technicians use iPads to complete the factory assessment checklist and monitor mold-related issues. This improves turnaround time and accuracy while allowing technicians to focus more on technical work rather than administrative tasks. Reports and CAPs will be distributed to customers and factories via the platform’s automated email system. Factories complete the CAPs online which is easier and facilitates timely submission, and the system sends automatic alerts for overdue or incomplete CAPs.
Advanced Data Analysis and Customer Dashboards
Customers have access to an online analytics dashboard where you can view factory reports and conduct data analysis to evaluate your entire factory base. Traditionally we look at factory performance individually but now you can analyze performance trends across all data fields using multiple filters including factory type, country/province, humidity levels, checklist item and more, giving you a complete view of your entire factory assessment program.

In-House Microbiology Lab
Micro-Pak’s microbiology labs in Hong Kong, Zhongshan and Putian are staffed by professional microbiologists and equipped with the latest technical tools for mold sampling and cultivation.
Mold Case Response
Despite everyone’s best efforts products may still arrive at their destination with mold. In such a situation Micro-Pak will conduct a detailed analysis of the moldy samples at one of our microbiology labs, using a variety of mold testing methods including Alexeter IAQ Pro™ swab tests, tape-lift tests, and Mycometer tests. After the sample analysis is complete, and with a full understanding of the problem, our technicians will conduct a full factory assessment looking for specific shortcomings in the factory that resulted in the mold problem, with the goal of preventing recurrence in future production.
Sample Analysis
We can determine the severity and type of mold (genus and species) on sample products and materials using a variety of tools and tests including Alexeter IAQ Pro™ swab tests, Tape-lift tests, and Mycometer tests. In doing so we can confirm the presence of mold and identify possible causes.
Education and Training
Educate your team and vendors on mold prevention best practices.
Seminars and Webinars
Every year Micro-Pak holds regularly scheduled webinars and seminars throughout South East Asia, South Asia, Europe and the US to educate all involved personnel on the issues of mold growth and prevention. These involve multilingual PowerPoint presentations, case studies, demonstrations and in-depth question and answer sessions. We also offer customized on-demand webinars for your vendor base that can focus on specific topics.
Online Training Course
Our free online training course is an excellent resource for brands and their vendors to develop their own in-house mold prevention experts. The course is available in English, Chinese and Vietnamese and participants will receive an official certificate upon successful completion.
