Superior: Moisture is the enemy of quality—inviting mold, mildew, rust, and corrosion. Micro-Pak Dri Clay® is the most sustainable and effective desiccant on the market, defending your goods from moisture and extending shelf life. Micro-Pak Dri Clay® absorbs moisture better than silica gel or calcium chloride, offering the best possible protection to any product—especially those sensitive to moisture like textiles, home furnishings, wood, paper, electronic appliances, food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, metal components and many others.

Sustainable and Safe: Made from natural bentonite clay sourced from sustainable mines, and packaged in FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified Kraft paper that is plastic-free and biodegradable, Micro-Pak Dri Clay® is environmentally responsible and non-toxic. There is no risk of leakage—unlike other desiccants, the top-grade clay never changes size, shape, or texture, even when at full absorption capacity. It also protects metal parts with no risk of corrosion, unlike highly corrosive calcium chloride desiccants.

Economical: Made with less packaging materials than other common desiccants, Micro-Pak Dri Clay® is also available in five sizes to fit your packaging, allowing you to eliminate moisture economically. Use it on its own or in conjunction with Micro-Pak® Stickers and Micro-Pak® PE Sheets for a comprehensive anti-mold and anti-moisture solution.

Choose Micro-Pak Dri Clay® instead of silica gel desiccants

More environmentally friendly: Manufacturing with naturally-occurring, 100% natural bentonite clay requires no water or chemicals, and little energy. This production process is far more sustainable than the energy-intensive production of synthetic silica gel, which requires chemical feedstocks and significant fresh water, while also producing pollutants, effluents, and discharges.

Superior performance and handling: Micro-Pak Dri Clay® outperforms silica gel, reducing humidity faster and to lower levels in most packaging conditions. It is also easier to handle so you run less risk of the desiccant reaching saturation in your factory before it’s packed with your products. Furthermore, there is significant variation in the quality of silica gels and many commonly found silica gels have no capacity to absorb moisture.

Better regulatory compliance: Micro-Pak Dri Clay® is 100% natural, DMF Free, exempt from REACH registration, and compliant with other international regulations. Silica gel requires REACH registration and is far riskier, with DMF (a substance banned in Europe) and cobalt chloride (a possible carcinogen) having been detected in it.

Choose Micro-Pak Dri Clay® instead of calcium chloride desiccants

Leakage-free: Micro-Pak Dri Clay® remains dry at all times, even at full water vapor capacity, so you never have to worry about leakage. But when calcium chloride absorbs moisture, it becomes liquid which poses high risk for leaking and damaging products.

Safe for metal: Micro-Pak Dri Clay® carries zero corrosion risk. Using calcium chloride near metal, however, is dangerous as the highly corrosive substance will damage metal parts on contact.

Smart for packaging: Because Micro-Pak Dri Clay® adsorbs at a consistent rate, through a wide range of humidity levels, it lowers humidity inside packaging faster and to lower levels than calcium chloride—reducing the risk of mold, mildew, and other moisture-related problems. Calcium chloride only absorbs moisture very quickly in environments with sustained levels of high humidity, making it an effective ingredient for shipping container desiccants—but a poor choice for packaging.
